Block 1A - Regenerating

8:00 am - 9:00 am

Stephan Esser, MD

REGENERATING – Faster Gains

Regenerative medicine is an innovative field that utilizes natural therapies to jump start the body's natural ability to heal and restore damaged tissue. Today  treatments like PRP, Stem cells and exosomes can be delivered directly into the injured tissue via ultrasound. Dr. Esser will overview the history and current state of regenerative treatments, how they can be applied safely, and describe its potential real life cases.

Block 1B - Regenerating -

The Regenerative Potential of Plasma Exchange

9:00 am - 10:00 am

David Haase, MD

REGENERATING – Faster Gains

This session will detail how Therapeutic Plasma Exchange has the potential to slow down the rate of brain and body degeneration and increase the rate at which the body regenerates and recovers.  As we age, blood becomes polluted with “rusty” proteins and “sticky” molecules that may adversely affect the brain and body.  Some of this same "injury" happens from intense physical training. Since blood is the river of nourishment for cells - the health of cells is influenced by the health of the blood. Therapeutic Plasma Exchange helps to "clean" your blood and removes certain harmful substances circulating in your plasma thus nourishing the cellular habitat and supporting the body's natural regenerative factors. This means faster recovery, faster regeneration and faster gains - all positively impacting human performance.

Block 1C - Regenerating

PRP and It’s Effect on Human Performance

10:30 am - 11:30 am

Scott Stoll, MD

REGENERATING – Faster Gains

There is a global unmet need for tissue repair strategies to treat musculoskeletal (MSK) and spinal disorders and emerging therapies that utilize platelet-rich plasma (PRP) applications are playing important roles in a variety of regenerative medicine treatment plans.

PRP therapy is based on the fact that platelet growth factors (PGFs) support the three phases of wound healing and repair cascade (inflammation, proliferation, remodeling).  In recent years, progress has been made in understanding PRP technology and the concepts for bioformulation, and the mechanisms related to inflammation and angiogenesis in tissue repair and regenerative processes.

This regenerative therapy can provide huge advantages to human performance both in competition and in everyday life.

Block 2A - Technology

Is Pulse Oximetry an Effective Tool for Human Performance

11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Joe Kiani

TECHNOLOGY – Better Gains

A pulse oximeter is a unique device that measures oxygen saturation in the blood and the pulse rate. An accurate reading can be provided in seconds, or it can be worn continuously. Oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse provide a quick measure of cardio-respiratory function at a glance, which can be extremely useful for athletes, people living at high altitude, hikers, and those with respiratory illnesses. Pulse oximeters are machines that measure a complex physiological process, therefore it is good to have an understanding of how they work, and what exactly the oxygen saturation in your arteries can tell you and whether or not they are beneficial in improving human performance.

TECHNOLOGY – Better Gains

We hear a lot about the amazing healthcare technology that is saving lives in hospitals and surgery centers.  We also see technology enhancing the human performance of athletes all over the world.  But much of the same technology that is available and beneficial to those elite athletes, is also available to weekend warriors, busy executives and others that simply “play hard” in the game of life.  Dotsie will share some examples of technology that she uses to help her performance both on the track and in everyday life.

Block 2C - Technology

Balancing and Maintaining the Health of the Human Nervous System to Enhance Human Performance

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Jim Poole

TECHNOLOGY – Better Gains

The central nervous system governs us, protects us and allows us to stay alive – it’s number one goal is self-preservation.  When we are stressed, the nervous system activates and mobilizes resources to protect us from the stressor(s) – whether real or perceived.  Often times with chronic stress, the body’s resources are perpetually mobilized, leading your mind and body to be constantly “ramped up” driving people to perpetual anxiety.  The thing to do in this situation is to slow everything down so your body can heal, recover and regenerate.  This can be a challenge for some people to do on their own but Jim Poole will introduce you to a technology that can help mitigate stress, restore calmness, increase rest, recovery and regeneration and increase human performance at every level.
